The Artist's Pint - Take Two

KURT JACKSON AND ST.IVES BREWERY REUNITE FOR NEW PINT

Following last year’s successful launch of The Artist’s Pint that raised funds for Greenpeace, St.Ives Brewery has creatively collaborated with Kurt Jackson once again to produce another outstanding offering to its ever-growing range.

Featuring original artwork from famous Cornish artist Kurt, the latest beer bottle’s image takes its inspiration from something that is poignant to both Kurt and St.Ives Brewery founder, Marco Amura.

A stunning seascape of Porthmoer Beach in St.Ives, Kurt’s evocative painting portrays the raw natural beauty and energy of Cornwall’s coastline and wild landscape that inform much of his globally revered, award-winning works.

In addition, by auctioning one of Kurt’s pieces of art, they will help raise funds for a different and very deserving cause: Surfers Against Sewage’s ‘Protect Our Waves’ campaign, which aims to highlight the importance of protecting the UK’s waves and beaches from pollution, marine litter and over-development.

"It’s always a pleasure to work with SAS and support their valuable work,” says Kurt. “As someone who lives on the Cornish coast as well as being an artist incorporating the sea in their work, I am well aware of the beauty, diversity and fragility of our marine environment and the threat it is under. It is reassuring that there is a group like SAS out there leading the battle for the protection of our seas and coasts."

Having surfed Cornwall’s beaches for over fifteen years, Porthmoer represents not just a favoured surfing spot for St.Ives Brewery’s Marco, but the essence of the town’s surfing community and Cornwall’s ocean-loving character.

“My passion for surfing and the sea is the perfect platform from which to produce a new pint with Kurt’s amazing artwork and also unite on a brilliant cause so we can all continue to celebrate our seas,” comments Marco.

Now in its third year of business, St.Ives Brewery is busy making its own waves within the Cornish food and drink scene and beyond with its flagship session ale, Boilers Golden Cornish Ale, along with its Cornish Golden Lager, Knill By Mouth Cornish Pale Ale and The Artist’s Pint – a 4.5% golden amber ale handcrafted using Maris Otter malted barley, English and European hops and a fine English ale yeast for a rich and fruity flavour. The Artist’s Pint is available in 500ml bottles and 9-gallon casks.

Pete Lewis from SAS adds: “Surfers Against Sewage would like to thank both St.Ives Brewery and Kurt Jackson for raising vital funds through The Artist’s Pint. It’s fantastic to have their support for our Protect Our Waves Campaign.”
